Biography

 

Amy Candido is a partner in the San Francisco Office of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP.  Ms. Candido’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and other high-stakes complex commercial litigation.  Ms. Candido has represented clients in a wide array of patent infringement matters, as well as antitrust, securities, contracts, fraud, auditor’s negligence, civil RICO, and employment matters.  Ms. Candido has a national practice and has handled litigations in California, Delaware, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas.  In addition to litigation, she regularly counsels clients regarding intellectual property and business litigation issues. 






Notable Representations

 

Represented leading gaming machine and systems provider in multiple disputes, including significant patent and antitrust litigation involving slot machines and player tracking systems.


Obtained dismissal with prejudice for defendant computer company in patent infringement action in N.D. California.


Represented computer company in significant, multi-district patent litigation involving image compression standards.


Represented semiconductor manufacturer in patent litigation involving plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition.


Represented computer manufacturer in patent litigation involving microprocessor architectures.


Represented national automobile retailer and private equity firm as second-chair in an arbitration with the estate of automobile retailer’s deceased chief executive regarding employment compensation and benefits.  After a one-week arbitration, obtained complete victory for client. 


Obtained summary judgment for defendant broker-dealer in contract dispute with plaintiff hedge fund.


Obtained summary judgment for defendant that corporate restructuring did not vest plaintiff former employees’ stock options and successfully defended appeal to Second Circuit.


Represented flat glass manufacturer in class action alleging horizontal price-fixing conspiracy.


Represented national accounting firm in litigation with audit client asserting securities law violations and civil RICO claim stemming from alleged auditor independence violations.
