Osama Alkhawaja

Osama Alkhawaja is an associate in Quinn Emanuel’s Los Angeles office, where he specializes in government-facing litigation. Osama has represented international corporations, early-stage start-ups, and individuals in federal and state courts in disputes involving trade secrets, economic espionage, zoning, and speech restrictions. He has experience drafting motions and researching complex legal issues on various topics including antitrust, constitutional issues, regulatory compliance, and corporate accountability. Osama is committed to his pro-bono practice, which includes helping immigrants file asylum petitions and guiding parents through the adoption process.

Prior to joining Quinn Emanuel, Osama served as a law clerk for the Honorable Salvador Mendoza, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and to the Honorable John C. Coughenour of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. Osama earned his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, where he was the Executive Articles Editor of the Chicago Journal of International Law, a research assistant for Professor Genevieve Lakier, the co-founder of the Middle Eastern and North African Law Students Association, and the president of the Muslim Law Students Association. He received his B.A. from San Diego State University where he was awarded student of the year from the political science department, selected to give the commencement speech, and was a visiting student at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
