Jia Yu is an associate in Quinn Emanuel’s Paris office. He joined the firm’s international arbitration practice in 2023. Jia Yu advises international parties in the resolution of their complex, global disputes.
Jia Yu has extensive experience in high-stakes dispute settlement, in sectors including the metals, oil and gas, engineering, infrastructure and construction sectors. He has worked on arbitrations conducted under a variety of institutional rules, including the ICC, SIAC and UNCITRAL rules. Prior to joining the firm, Jia Yu was a senior associate at one of Singapore’s leading law firms and pre-eminent arbitration practices, where he represented clients from all over the world in high-value international arbitrations. He also frequently appeared before the Singapore Court of Appeal and High Court, as part of a team litigating cutting-edge issues relating to international arbitration. A number of the annulment /enforcement cases in which Jia Yu acted have become landmark decisions.
Jia Yu is dual-qualified, being an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore and a Solicitor of England & Wales. He holds an LL.B. from the National University of Singapore and an LL.M. from Sciences Po in Paris.
