Alex Rossmiller is an experienced trial lawyer, former federal prosecutor, and member of the Firm’s Investigations, Government Enforcement, and White Collar Criminal Defense Group.  Mr. Rossmiller represents companies and individuals in investigations by regulators and law enforcement authorities in the United States and abroad, as well as in high-stakes civil matters, including securities litigation and other commercial disputes.  Mr. Rossmiller counsels corporate entities in connection with internal investigations and culture reviews, including relating to highly sensitive matters, and assists in the design and implementation of compliance and other organizational programs.

Mr. Rossmiller served for more than a decade as a federal prosecutor for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, primarily with the Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force.  Mr. Rossmiller led the investigations of some of the office’s most significant, complex, and high-profile cases, including prosecutions relating to the collapse of Archegos Capital Management and the groundbreaking prosecutions of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Mr. Rossmiller was lead counsel on trials and investigations in cases involving market manipulation, insider trading, accounting fraud, bribery, cross-border corruption, and civil rights violations, and he briefed and argued numerous appeals before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.  Mr. Rossmiller has earned a number of awards and commendations for his public service, including the Department of Justice Director’s Award for his work as a prosecutor.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Rossmiller served as an intelligence officer for the U.S. Department of Defense, where he received the Joint Civilian Service Award for meritorious service in deployment to Iraq.  Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Mr. Rossmiller clerked for the Honorable Nicholas G. Garaufis, United States District Court, Eastern District of New York.  He is a graduate of the New York University School of Law and of Middlebury College.
