Nick Shying is an Associate in Quinn Emanuel’s Sydney office. He joined the firm in 2024. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, Nick was an Associate in commercial litigation and dispute resolution at a national law firm in Melbourne. He represented clients in international commercial arbitration and litigation in superior courts, including in the areas of contract law, corporations law, and equity and trusts.
Nick was previously a Lawyer at the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet, where he advised on legal risk, statutory interpretation, administrative and constitutional matters, and worked on large-scale litigation.
Nick also has broad experience in government and international relations, including as Aide to the Governor of Victoria, International Policy Adviser and Naval Warfare Officer.
Nick holds a Bachelor of Laws with Upper Second Class Honours and a Bachelor of Arts from Monash University. He holds a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the Australian National University.
