Simon Walsh is Of Counsel in Quinn Emanuel’s London office. He focuses on high value international commercial arbitration and complex cross-border litigation and has acted for clients in the financial, private equity, maritime, offshore, power, telecoms, and aviation sectors. Simon has acted on some of the world’s largest international arbitration disputes in the telecoms sector. He has represented both claimants and defendants in the English high court and in arbitrations under the LCIA, ICC, AAA, UNCITRAL, ICSID, SIAC, LMAA and VIAC rule and has detailed knowledge of the enforcement and annulment of international arbitral awards and judgments.

Simon has extensive experience of managing multi-jurisdictional litigation in the offshore courts in Guernsey, Jersey, the Isle of Man, the British Virgin Islands, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands as well as in Europe, Turkey and Russia.

Simon’s experience also extends to restructuring and insolvency matters where he acts for bondholders and other creditors in distressed debt situations, and his recent practice has extended into group actions, acting in particular for claimants in representative claims relating to data misuse.

Prior to joining Quinn Emanuel, Simon was Special Counsel at another global US headquartered law firm.

Simon’s career has also included time in finance: Simon was Senior Investment Officer with a leading fund investing in litigation and distressed assets.

Simon holds a Masters Degree in International Trade and Maritime Law from the University of Southampton.
