Claus Wenzler is an associate in Quinn Emanuel’s London office. His practice focuses on complex competition litigation.

In his competition litigation practice, Claus advises on the full spectrum of competition disputes, including in relation to cartels, abuses of dominance, regulatory investigations, appeals of regulatory decisions and collective proceedings. Claus’ experience includes some of the largest and most complex disputes that have recently been before the English courts and he currently acts in proceedings concerning the manipulation of LIBOR against a number of large banks in London.

Prior to joining the firm, Claus trained at a leading competition litigation firm in London and worked in the competition departments of two international law firms. While there, Claus worked on cutting edge competition disputes in the High Court, the Competition Appeal Tribunal, the Court of Appeal and the General Court of the European Union. His litigation experience spans a broad range of industries, including aviation, automotive, manufacturing, energy, sports, retail, and online markets. In addition, Claus provided general competition law and merger control/FDI advice across multiple jurisdictions and industry sectors.

Claus graduated with a first class degree in Law and International Relations at the University of Sussex, where he also completed a Master of Laws in Public International Law, obtaining an award for the highest overall performance in an LLM degree that year. Claus also worked as a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Public International Law and Comparative Law in Heidelberg, Germany and most recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in European Competition Law at King’s College London.
